Turkey Trot

I could barely sleep last night, maybe it was because my mind was already running the turkey trot. Today was the day, Harry and me had talked enough running strategy and were ready to run. Waking up to snow was awesome, but I knew it didn't make for perfect running conditions. We drove about 20 minutes north to a town called Olgesby. Who would of thought a town so small could could host a race for 300 people. Harry and I warmed up with a 100 meter jog and stretched. I should of stretched a little more because my calf's are feeling it right now. I thought I could stay with Harry's pace but he passed me before the first mile. Although I felt terrible during and after the race, I am glad we ran it. I think we are going to make it a tradition on thanksgiving morning. I will devote all my training to the turkey trot and train harder than ever so I am ready for next year. Hopefully the whole family will run next year. Happy Thanksgiving!
