July 5th

A recent arrival at the 444.

July 4th

A plan to take a half hour bike ride led to journey around town with stops at Monona terrace, and Tenney park. It was wonderful cap to a great 4th of July weekend.

Weekend Highlights
  • Spending the weekend in my hometown Wausau, WI at my roommate Joe's lake house.
  • Surviving a storm while out on a late night pontoon ride, which produced 70 mph winds. Special thanks to captain Joe Noteboom, and crewman Chis Holland.
  • Yard games
  • Eating wonderful food, especially the racks on racks of ribs. All thanks to Joe's parents.
  • Singing around the bonfire.
  • Paddle boat rides and late night swimming.

P.S. I am attempting to take a picture everyday in July, but I have already missed a couple days, so who knows how this plan will hold. Thanks for the idea sister!

Today I purchased my tickets for the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. This will be my first year attending, and I am super pumped. There are only a couple of artists committed for each day as of right now, but there will for sure be many more to come. Here is the line up so far:

Friday, July 15:

-- Animal Collective
-- James Blake
-- Das Racist
-- Curren$y

Saturday, July 16:

-- Fleet Foxes
-- The Dismemberment Plan
-- Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti
-- Woods
-- Sun Airway
-- Kylesa

Sunday, July 17:

-- TV on the Radio
-- Cut Copy
-- Deerhunter
-- Destroyer
-- OFWGKTA
-- Yuck
This 3 day event will most likely be one the highlights of my summer 2011.

Cabin Fever

This past weekend really got me in the mood for summer. My brother-in-law Charile, my sis, my bro and I spent the weekend at the cabin. The weather was great and so was all the food we ate. We played a lot of cards, drove around the lake and even had the occasional impromptu music session. I was able to put the final touches on the Boat Mix '11 album, but haven't yet picked a release date. Summer is near and I am ready to spend weekend after weekend at the sandbar.

James Blake

I was never really a fan of James Blake, but since the release of his new album, I have been listening to it non stop. It is definitely great paper writing music.
