Just 2 more days and my first semester at Madison is complete. Oh and how it flew by. It is hard to think a year ago I was at a different school. And now just two more days, a brutal final and its summer again for a month.

What a View

With finals coming up next week, I am currently posted up at the library on this beautiful saturday morning. I have a great view of the the lake from the 3rd floor window at college library. I have really began to like coming to the libraies at Madison because it seems to be a gathering place for girls.

I watched the movie Elf with a couple guys last night. It got me really excited for tonight because we are watching "It's a Wonderful Life." And it's less than two weeks away till Christmas.

4 L_JSmith

So today is Friday and it is a good day. Besides the fact that i have to finish my 10page paper by sunday, it is getting warmer out and our heat finally works. Right now our house is sitting at a very warm 60 degrees, much better than the 44 degrees it was yesterday mroning. I am looking forward to finishing up the last 2 days of classes next week and then getting into finals. Christmas break is so close. And on a different note...

The 444 is really getting into a new reality show on MTV, Jersey Shore. I think the whole house can in some way relate to the show. Last night we all came up with our own guido names. I am looking forward to next Thursday nights new episode.

Snow Day

Today feels like a Monday to me, I'm blaming it on the Snow Day all Wisconsin Schools had yesterday. The Snow Day yesterday consisted of lying around, watching movies and the occasional conversation on Facebook Chat. We have an estimated 19 inches of snow on the ground and all of it accumulated in 24 hours. It was the first time since 1965 that UW Madison classes were canceled the night before the storm. The whole town was electric and alive after the exciting news. Everyone was outside enjoying the blizzard. My arm still hurts from throwing snowballs, many which were directed at innocent bystanders. All of this snow makes for horrible driving conditions and I feel bad for those that have to travel to work. The roads are now covered in a layer of ice. Today as I was walking to class, I saw the effects of what the icy roads did to people. At one of the busy intersections I cross every morning, the walk sign wasn't on but there were no cars passing by. All of which were at the bottom of a slight hill, constantly spinning their tires, getting no where. One guy walking a head of me also found out how icy the roads are. As he was casually walking through an intersection he slipped and fell to the ground. He must of fell fairly hard because he didn't get up to his feet immediately. But instead crawled to the other side of the road.

This weather is also taking a toll on my floor of the 444. We still have no heat. I can't sit in my room without shivering or putting on layers of clothes. This weather makes my mornings the worst. I hate getting out of the shower. I saw my own breath as I brushed my teeth. It was -1 when I woke up, with a wind chill of -20. It made for one hell of battle to class. At least my German class loved my MTV Cribs video I made.

From Twitter: Caleb Seiser- "I realize my abs hurt so badly from shivering in my sleep."

Holiday Wallpaper

One of my friends from Stout, Phil, developed a holiday Wallpaper that can catch any ones eye from across the library. If you are in need of a new wallpaper for your computer, this one will settle your hunger for Christmas.

Christmas Card

One morning about a week before thanksgiving break, all the members of the 444 gathered on the stoop. After a couple 'silly faced' photos, we finally came up with the masterpiece above. The card is filled with joy, happiness and holiday spirit. I can't help but smile when I look at it. I hope everyone enjoys it just as much as I do.

Far left standing is Scott Streid, aka The Business Man. Twitter ID: streid. Scott loves long walks around the campus and enjoys eating chicken. Scott loves everything to do with Marketing and is the leader of 15 to 20 clubs at Madison.

Front left sitting is Joe Noteboom, aka Boom. Twitter ID: jnoteboom. Joe is a fellow Wausau West graduate of '07. In high school Joe played Basketball and he could play the post position with the best of them. Joe loves singing and baking banana bread. His favorite day time activity is Wrestling.

Right behind Joe is Cameron Wiegert, aka Reddit enthusiast. Twitter ID: CamWiegert. For more information see the blog post from November 23, entitled Cameron.

Sitting next to Joe wearing the red hat is Kevin Schoen aka Fantasy Football Guru. Twitter ID kjschoen. We didn't speak to each other for the first two weeks of school. Kevin is an avid runner and excels in Fantasy Football. He most enjoys late night moped rides and the Green Bay Packers. He is also nationally recognized as one of the best Nintendo 64 Super Smash Brother players.

Right behind Kevin with the curly blond bleached hair is Caleb Seiser, aka Sleepy. Twitter ID: calebseiser. Caleb is also a Wausau West Grad of '07 and was a fellow tenor 2 in concert chorale. Caleb loves Steenbock Library. He spends most of his day trying to get better at all video games. He loves eating salad and is known for making extra stong coffee. Caleb enjoys most wrestling with Joe in the 90's room.

Right behind Caleb and the only one wearing glasses in the picture is Chis Holland aka Minnesota's #1 Sports Fan. Twitter ID: cholland2. Chis loves all of Minnesota's sports teams and will do absolutely anything for them. He enjoys putting up Christmas lights and eating early dinners. Chris loves Summer pontoon rides. And above all, loves being an American!

Last but not certainly least, standing on the far right is Levi Smith, aka The Hunter. Twitter ID: L_JSmith. Levi enjoys lifting weights and is the best hunter in the house. Levi enjoys watching Dexter and eating trail mix. He loves spending his free time in the libraries. Levi likes all Holidays and he is known for his outstanding abilities at the strong safety position in football.

And that's the 444 summed up in a blog post. Happy Holiday's

A 2nd Shout Out

So a roommate of mine Levi, was checking out the the "Shout Outs" today in the Badger Herald and he came across yet another one related to the 444. Only this time it was directed at me. I can't decide yet if I feel honored or not. You make the decision...

Shout Out #44. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009 @ 1:56pm: SO to the shared itunes library called "Grinding Music." 80% of your library is Christmas songs. Can I come to your place for xmas this year??

A lot of people share their itunes libraries so others can listen. I have always shared my music and this year I wanted to have a creative title. SO I chose to name my library Grinding Music. I only share 2 artists, Bemo and Wausau West Concert Chorale. I hope everyone continues to enjoy my music and feels the same way as shout out #44 does!

Shout Out

Last night me and some of the 444 members put up some lights outside. Big thanks to my Aunt Kim who gave me the ladder decoration, it is the biggest attraction on the street of mifflin. Its so big, we got a shout out on the school newspaper...

"SO to the guys who live in 444 Mifflin who decorated their house so festively with not only just plain lights, but a light up ladder that has Santa, Rudolph, an elf, and a snowman. Perfect background for a classic UW-Madison Christmas card. Everyone else living on Mifflin should be ashamed."

Big thanks to Caroline for the Shout Out!!

Reality

I apoligize for the time off between posts. I have gotten many requests to post everyday, so I will try and meet those requests. Anyways, I arrived back to the chilly 444 today and had a great Thanksgiving break in Minonk. I just ate a lot, watched football and put up Christmas lights. The house looks great with lights and it may be the best decorated in the whole city. Now I am back to reality but glad to be back in Madison. I cooked Mom's enchlada caserole for dinner and shared it with the whole house. I am pretty sure the heat doesn't work on our flat, so I have to start remembering to turn on my heating blanket a half hour before bed so its warm when I enter it.

Turkey Trot

I could barely sleep last night, maybe it was because my mind was already running the turkey trot. Today was the day, Harry and me had talked enough running strategy and were ready to run. Waking up to snow was awesome, but I knew it didn't make for perfect running conditions. We drove about 20 minutes north to a town called Olgesby. Who would of thought a town so small could could host a race for 300 people. Harry and I warmed up with a 100 meter jog and stretched. I should of stretched a little more because my calf's are feeling it right now. I thought I could stay with Harry's pace but he passed me before the first mile. Although I felt terrible during and after the race, I am glad we ran it. I think we are going to make it a tradition on thanksgiving morning. I will devote all my training to the turkey trot and train harder than ever so I am ready for next year. Hopefully the whole family will run next year. Happy Thanksgiving!

Cameron

Cam Wiegert, his room is next to mine. Just about every morning I am woke up by the sound of his alarm clock. He spends most of his life admiring reddit, loves playing as the charcter Ness in Super Smash Brothers 64 and eating rice for almost every meal. For halloween he was a ketchup bottle. He is really good at making graphics and making videos. Although he is a cool guy, he could really learn how to load the dishwassher properly.

The 444

The weekend has come and gone. Midterms are over and I am feeling relieved to be done. I am looking forward to a short week and heading home on Tuesday.

The xbox saw alot of use this past week. OngishBwudd, the gamertag I play under, got up to level 56 in Call of Duty, constantly unlocking perks and guns. My weapon of choice is the ACR.

I am also eager to put up the Christmas lights on Tuesday night when I arrive in Minonk. But at the same time, not looking forward to spending endless hours untangling, putting lights on every tree, and object my grandpa has in his yard.

I have decided for the upcoming week that I am going to blog about every person in my house. Each day for the next 7 days I am going to dedicate my blog posts to describing, and analyzing each member of 444 W Mifflin.

2000 Miles

I was in the library today, just like everyday and I decided to listen to Coldplay. I know its not even Thanksgiving yet but one of my favorite Christmas songs came on by them and it made me really get in the spirit. The song is called 2000 Miles. Everything about the song is good and being that its about Christmas is another plus. I have to give credit to my sister Myndi for introducing this one to me. PLaying christmas songs before December brings back memories form freshman year when I was going to UW Stout. Me and my roommate Phil really got in the Holiday spirit. We watched every possible christmas movie, Elf is my fav, along with cutting down our own tree and decorating our dorm room with lights. I encourage everyone to really get into the Christmas spirit this year, it makes the holiday so much more enjoyable.

November Red

So I am entering week number 3 of no shave November and the beard is looking fine. I have never gone more than 4 days without shaving, so all of this is a new experience for me. If I had a camera I would have taken a picture in front of the bathroom mirror, with my shirt off, so everyone who reads my blog could see just how the whole beard thing is looking. But in the meantime I just found a pic from google images that represents the look of my beard well. This weekend was a success. Harry(my brother) and my cousin nick experienced their first badger game. The chili that dad made is probably one of his finest batches. And for the casserole mom made...WOW, get me the recipe. This week is a going to be a week of hell. Although I finished the paper that was due today and also had a quiz today, I still have 2 tough exams on Thursday. So if anyone needs to reach me I will be in the Library.

Bin

As I sit here next to the heat of the gas fireplace at my cabin, I am warmer than I have been all fall. The flat as yet to turn the heat on at the 444. Nothing to watch on the 5 channels that come in on tv and I have watched all the VHS tapes at least 3 times here. Probably going to wake up early and cast a tiger color rapala off the dock. Heard some fish jump while sitting in the screened in porch. I love fishing. Dad made another crock pot full of chili. I can't wait to heat up a bowl of chili for all my meals this week for lunch and dinner. Last home badger game tomorrow against Michigan! GO BADGERS!

Dinner

Over the past couple of months while I have lived in Madison, I have really gained alot of cooking skills and learned some great recipes. The recipe that I am about to share is one of my finest. I usually make it at least once a week.

What You Need:

1 Box of Penne Pasta
1 Jar of PREGO spaghetti sauce(mushroom flavor)
2 Tablespoons of ranch
1 Pinch crushed red pepper

Just boil the pasta in a pot of water on High heat. Once pasta is tender, take off heat and drain. Add PREGO sauce, stir, then add in ranch and pepper. The ranch provides the extra kick to provide an unbelievable meal in 15 minutes. ENJOY!

Hint: I usually make more than I need so I have leftovers for the next day.

Gameday

Woke up to the sun shinning. 67 degrees today. First time in a month I sat on the stoop with a cup of coffee. Got another 'W' today with another Badger win, now 7-2 on the season. Can't wait for the last home game of the season vs Michigan next week. And to top things off, all my stout bros came to Madison. Another successful weekend in Madtown.

Friday Fun

Friday: 5:30 pm. What great weather in Madison today! I didn't even need a jacket while walking to my classes. Its going to be nice all weekend. Probably the last best weather we will have until spring. Spent most of the day beating my roommate in NFL Blitz for nintendo 64. It is going to be a good weekend because friends from Stout are coming. Can't wait.

Bemo's Breakfast

I feel that is is necessary to share with all my friends what I have been recently eating for breakfast and how I start my day with tons of energy. I have always been a big fan of cereal. If I had to, I would eat it all day. This past week I have been starting every morning with a bowl of Apple Jacks and a Bagel, then I am on my way to German class. Nothing gets me more prepared to speak a foreign language.

Finally in the Blogging World

Finally I made it, a real blogger. So cool. I don't really know what to say. Below is one of my finest mixes.
